One thing most people don't know about the Aggies: they made up ALL of their fight songs.
When the Aggies score a touchdown it is a tradition (mainly among the Corps) that they kiss their date. PUT AKRON ON THE SCHEDULE!!!!! In the spirit of unity K-State needs to adopt this tradition! That way they'd guarantee sellout crowds with Northern IL or Akron.
They don't have cheerleaders. Aggies don't cheer. They yell. Five of them are elected by the student body each year. Three Seniors and Two Juniors I believe. They are considered the "Keepers of the Spirit of Aggieland." They participate in fish camp where frosh are introduced to campus culture and lead yells during games.
Only Cadets, Reveille, coaching staff, players and the opposing team are allowed on the field of play. Just ask the tsip fans what happened the last time they tried to rush the field. [The Corps took the field with sabres drawn.]
It is home of the Twelfth Man. Arguably the most sacred Aggie tradition. In 1922 King Gill was called from the stands as the Aggies had pressed hard into their reserves against Centre College. He suited up and stood ready to enter the game if needed. He accepted the call to help his team. Though he didn't have to play that event sparked what evolved into the tradition of every Aggie standing during the game in symbol of Gill's devotion. So in essence the whole student body is the 12th man.
The preferred stance is the 'hump it' stance where you bend over about 45 degrees and put your palms above your knees. This gives you the most volume when yelling.
