With the advent of the Palm Pilot the homonym (you DID watch heckle & jeckle as a kid, right?) acquired a third meaning. 5/01/01 I broke down and bought one of those Palm Pilots. Better than handing out those dorky baskets!
I'd been considering it for some time and after reading about Palm phasing out the III series I shopped around the internet. Ended up getting the Palm IIIxe and a HotSync cable for $140 delivered.
(HINT: When you are making a major purchase of items you could otherwise get at an office supply store you can goto staples.com, officedepot.com, officemax.com, etal, pick what you want, goto an online coupon site [typing 'staples coupon' in directhit or hotbot will list dozens of sites], and enter the coupon code in your order. The five minutes online saves you $40 on a $150 order and trips to the stores [who wants to shop for office supplies?!?], phone calls, etc. This tactic works for most places with stores on the web.)
Not that I've ever been called anal or compulsive...I've had this for almost a week and have for your viewing pleasure a great list of sites for your palm.
http://palmtops.about.com
The best palm start area I've found. Of course this can be said for many
'about' sites. 'About' is the internet version of 'X' for Dummies.
http://www.palmgear.com
A site with numerous palm resources. Hundreds of freeware and shareware
items. Ranks the popularity of applications by number of downloads. Includes
links to the sites of developers.
http://www.palmpilotarchives.com/the_software.html
This is a Palm-sponsored URL that contains an emulation program for your pc.
Not sure if a new palm ap is corrupt or not? Just run it through your emulator.
It was designed for developers but if you just have to have that game of Giraffe
on your pc this will float your boat. It will require a ROM. IF you have a Palm
it should be no problem for one as capable as you.
http://www.palmtree.com
A creative name with some FAQs, tips and tricks for your palm device.
Doesn't look like it's been updated for a few years.
http://www.freewarepalm.com
A solid collection of freeware for your palm.
http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10002.html?tag=dir
A great source of downloads from CNET for your palm. They rank applications
by total downloads for the month. Links to the developers are included.
http://www.antioch.com.sg/edgar/bibledoc.html
Download parts of the KJV Bible for your palm. You can download the whole
thing or groups of books, all for free.
